PINE RIDGE, SD — Following a 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance, Lakota Tech High School students have once again gotten the opportunity to show their spirit to Americans around the country in the Parade’s “Spirit Of America” cheer, however in order to make it, several members of the cheer team have asked for community support in their efforts, and have started a Gofundme to make the trip to the event.
“They have all been working so hard along with family members doing fundraisers to reach this goal. Our families have been working so hard to make this trip possible by doing food sales, softball tournaments, yard sales, concessions at events, bake sales, etc,” says Constance Weasel Bear, mother to two cheerleaders on the team, and aunt to another, “Adrianne and Drew are returning Spirit of America cheer performers. They participated in 2023. This will be Julia’s first time attending for most this is a once in a lifetime experience”.
The Gofundme is seeking $2695.00 by September 1, 2025 for the three girls, and is available here
