RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police arrested two individuals on May 30 after they allegedly attempted to leave a restaurant without paying for their meal for the second time in recent weeks. The incident occurred in Rapid City, a major city in South Dakota and a popular stop for those visiting the Black Hills.
At approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to 211 N. Cambell Street for a report of two subjects who had dined and left without paying. Restaurant staff informed police that they recognized the pair from a similar incident a couple of weeks prior. Employees confronted the two when they attempted to walk out on their bill again.
Police identified the individuals as 18-year-old Hailey Fischer of Rapid City and 18-year-old Ethan Petty of Custer. Both were placed under arrest for Theft. Fischer also faces arrest on two outstanding warrants and appeared in court today for the petty theft charge and past warrants for failure to appear in court for resisting arrest, simple assault domestic, and violation of conditional bond.
