RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police Department (RCPD) officers responded to two separate reports of gunshots overnight, according to department records. Both instances involved initial reports of shots fired, but subsequent searches of the areas failed to locate physical evidence.
The first incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 2nd, when police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Adams Street following reports of gunshots heard in the area. Officers conducted a search but did not find any physical evidence or property damage related to the report.
The second report came in early Friday morning, October 3rd, around 12:40 a.m. Police were sent to the 3100 block of Oak Avenue for a similar report of gunshots. A search of that location also did not turn up any bullet casings or damage relevant to the reported activity.
