Virginia (Ginny) Shirley Eiseman

Virginia (Ginny) Shirley Eiseman, 87, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Facility in New Underwood, SD.
Virginia was born on March 29, 1938, to William “Lester” and Elva (Roberts) Wigington. She was raised in Huron, SD, and graduated from Huron High School in 1956. Shortly after graduation, she met Lloyd Eiseman, and they married in Huron in 1957. Together, they built a loving home and welcomed four children.
Lloyd’s career led the family to settle in Redfield in 1957, Chamberlain in 1964, and Aberdeen in 1984. The couple retired in 1994. In 2001, they moved to Spearfish, SD, where they resided until Lloyd’s passing in 2018. In September 2018, Virginia moved to Pine Hills Assisted Living in Hot Springs, SD, and to Good Samaritan Society in New Underwood, SD, in February 2025.
While Virginia held various part-time positions throughout her life, her main occupation was raising their four children and supporting Lloyd by being in charge of the household, which was more than a full-time job. As Lloyd’s health declined, Virginia’s role became his caretaker for a number of years.  She cherished spending time with her family and friends and had a passion for gardening, sewing, bowling, and caring for many dogs, cats, and birds over the years.
Virginia was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Alvin (Rochelle) Eiseman of Pahrump, NV; Paul (Trecia) Eiseman of Newton, KS; and Darrell (Sherry) Eiseman of Brookings, SD; and her daughter, Lynette Eiseman of Rapid City, SD. She also leaves behind her brother, Richard Wigington of Huron, SD; her nephew, Kyle (Sherry) Wigington of Cancun, TX; and her niece, Kayleen (Dan) Krolikowski of Deadwood, SD. Additionally, she is survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews from Lloyd’s family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother William Jr. (Bill) Wigington, sisters-in-law Rita and Kathy Wigington, and nephew Mark Wigington.
A short service honoring Virginia’s life will be held on June 17th at 10 a.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Battle Mountain Humane Society, 27254 Wind Cave Road, Hot Springs, SD 57747, and the Alzheimer’s Association, South Dakota Chapter, 5915 S. Remington Pl #110, Sioux Falls, SD 57108.
