Susan (Ostrander) Eagleton

Susan (Ostrander) Eagleton passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer on November 18, 2024, in her hometown of Rapid City, SD. Born on May 26, 1957, to the late Russell and Dorothy Ostrander, Susan’s years in Rapid City were characterized by faith, friendship, and courage.

A 1975 graduate of Rapid City Central High School, Susan went on to pursue higher education at Black Hills State College, where she earned her degree in 1979.

Sue worked several jobs prior to her 20 year. employment with Duhamel Broadcasting.

She also volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels, delivering not only nutrition but also companionship to those she served.

Sue was a parishioner of St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church; she lived her beliefs through her actions and her faith filled spirit.

Following her death, Sue became an eye donor, gifting the sight of her corneas to others.

She is survived by her sisters Donna (Ray) Barck, Roma (John) Herbst, Toni (Alvino) Davila, and Mary (Lee) Blodgett and her faithful dog, Honey. Her life was further enriched by the joy she found in her numerous nieces and nephews, and she also held a special place in her heart for her companion Anders Mann. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex Eagleton, and her great-nephew Royal Mullin.

Memorial donations may be made to The Humane Society of the Black Hills in Sue’s
name.

The entombment of Sue’s ashes will be at a later date with final resting at Pine Lawn
Memorial Park.
