Rosalie M. English

Rosalie M. English, 77 of Camp Crook, SD passed away Tuesday April 1st, 2025 at her home with her daughter by her side. Burial will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD on Monday August 11th, 2025 at 12:30 pm. Celebration of life will take place Monday August 11th, 2025 in Camp Crook, SD at 6:00 pm.

​Rosalie M. English was born December 22nd, 1947 in Superior, NE to Roy and Wanda (Blair) Smith. Rosalie spent her younger years on a farm in Nebraska and graduated from Lexington High in 1965. After graduating she moved to Colorado with her parents and siblings. Rosalie attended the Aurora Beauty College and graduated in 1967. She met Gene Brienza whom she married in 1968. Shortly after that she opened her beauty shop in Denver, Co. They had 2 children Eugene II (estranged) and AnneMarie. They later divorced and Rosalie sold her beauty shop in 1979. Rosalie worked for Don Ward & Company as a bookkeeper from 1979 to 1986.There she met Scott English and the two were married in 1983. In 1984 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In 1986, the two moved to Camp Crook, SD. Rosalie worked at Sky Ranch for Boys from 1986 to 1996 as a Special Education teachers Aide. She retired due to progression of her MS symptoms. In 2003 her husband Scott passed away. In 2001,Rosalie became the treasurer for the town of Camp Crook and in 2004 became the Finance Officer until her death. 

​Rosalie loved her family. They meant everything to her and in 1997 she was blessed with her first grandson, Dalton. In 1999 she was blessed again with her second grandson, Colton. In 2000 AnneMarie and the boys moved to Buffalo to be closer to her. Rosalie was always there if they needed her and those two little boys meant more to her than anything. They were the apple of her eye. She was a proud grandma and wasn’t afraid to tell people. In 2017, she had her first great-granddaughter Avery, followed by Emma in 2019, and Harper in 2021. Although they lived  far away, she always asked about them and looked at their pictures. She loved those little girls dearly. In 2018 AnneMarie and Colton moved in with her to help care for her and her yard. Rosalie had a kind heart and spirit, she had an abundance of patience for everyone and every situation. She will be greatly missed but is at peace now and still looking out for her friends and family.

​Rosalie loved spending time in the garden and tending to her yard. In her spare time she refurbished old furniture and floors. She was an avid reader. Her favorite author was Stephen King and she read all of his book’s multiple times. She spent time doing puzzle books to keep her mind sharp. She had a love for animals from cats to horses and dogs. She enjoyed watching the birds come to the birdfeeders from her chair in the living room. She had favorite shows like Judge Judy, Jeopardy, and WWE wrestling which she seldom missed.

​Rosalie is survived by her daughter AnneMarie Brienza, Camp Crook, grandson Dalton (Brianna) Pacetti, Moyie Springs ID, Colton Brienza, Rapid City SD, great-granddaughters Avery, Emma, and Harper Pacetti, Moyie Springs ID, sister-in-law Lydia Smith, Las Vegas NV, niece Casey (Eric) Ellsworth Danis, Las Vegas NV, great niece Kyler Ellsworth Las Vegas NV, Great nephew Jackson Ellsworth las Vegas NV, her great uncles and aunts and their families.

​Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband Scott English, parents Roy and Wanda Smith, brother Steve Smith, stepson Randy English, and nephew Mathew Bauer.
