Robert Morse Eggers of Quinn, SD passed into glory on October 29, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1936, to Ralph Harold and Helen Gladys (Morse) Eggers in Clay Center, NE.
He graduated from Ogallala High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959, where he gained skills as a mechanic which he put to good use the rest of his life. He married Frances Lorene Standiford on September 15, 1957, in Philip, SD. Bob and Frances were blessed with 5 children and lived in various places in Illinois and Iowa before returning to South Dakota in 1969. Bob wore many hats throughout his career: trucker, mechanic, ranch hand, carpenter, and handyman to name a few. He had many skills and was always willing to use his skills to help his neighbors. He loved his family, his country and his Lord.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Frances. He is survived by his two siblings, Barbara Miller of Ogallala, NE, and Dan (Kathleen) Eggers of Barrington, IL, as well as five children, Cheryl (Paul) Reiter of Rapid City, SD, Robert (Marlene) of Black Hawk, SD,
Norman (Cheryl) of Nemo, SD, Timothy (Charlene) of Lead, SD, and Cindy (Clark) Jones of Rapid City, SD, 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on November 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church, 2212 Lance Street, Rapid City, SD. A luncheon will be served after the memorial for friends and family to reminisce.
