Gavin Michael Woldt

Gavin Michael Woldt passed away on May 29th, 2025, at the age of 26 years old in Sturgis, South Dakota.

Gavin was born on October 20th, 1998, in Madison, South Dakota. He was the oldest son of Kimberly Wilkins and Jasen Wilkins. Gavin grew up in Sturgis and attended school in Sturgis, as well. He got his GED in 2021. He worked many jobs throughout his life, but his most recent accomplishment was his proudest. He got his blue license for gaming and worked as a manager for Midnight Star.

One of Gavin’s earliest hobbies was reading. As a child, he always had his nose in a book. In first grade, his teacher explained that one day Gavin had everything stacked up out of his desk and a book opened on top, just reading in the middle of class. Another hobby he had as a child was sports. He loved to play baseball and basketball and made lifelong friends through his teammates.

Gavin always had loved to play videogames. Throughout his life, games were always a part of it. He made many friends online and even his current friends would know how much he loved to play. His collection of Counter-Strike skins was his prized possession. He also loved cars, especially project cars he could fix. He loved showing them off and taking his siblings for drives.

Gavin had a big personality, and anyone who had an interaction with him would say this. He was a light in a room and was always there for those who needed him no matter what time or where. He truly was the life of the party and cared deeply for those around him. He loved a good dark beer but would try anything just to see what it was like. He also has a collection of hats that he always made sure they were clean and if he had lost one it was a huge deal. He was a goofy man and always tried to make everyone laugh.

Gavin is survived by his mother, Kim Wilkins; his father, Jasen Wilkins; sisters, Jaedra Yantis and Kathryn Wilkins; brother, Deacon Wilkins; brother-in-law, Ethan Yantis; and nephews, Oliver, Finnick and Perseus Yantis.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Mary Harsma.
