Gary Dwayne Geuke, born on August 3, 1942, to Myron and Fern Geuke, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at the age of 82, with his family by his side.
On February 5, 1968, Gary married the love of his life, Verna, and together they raised their three sons, affectionately known as “the boys”: Brian, Ryan, and Jason. Gary’s life was filled with adventure and hard work. He spent time working for Homestake, owning his own garbage company, and later working in Deadwood. Beyond his professional endeavors, Gary found joy in fishing, hunting, playing cards, enjoying a good cup of coffee, and spending cherished moments with his family and his beloved Pup Rufus.
Gary was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Chris, Derik, Dawson, Devon, and Mayze. He also delighted in being a great-grandfather to Kellen, Adalyn, Piper, Elliott, Charlotte, and Nico. His sons and their wives—Julie, Krista, and Amber—were always ensuring he had delicious meals and his favorite leftovers to take home.
Gary’s family takes comfort in knowing he has been reunited with Verna. Though deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Rest easy, Pops. We’ve got it taken care of down here.
