Brandi Lee Monroe

With the heaviest of hearts, we share that our beautiful Brandi Lee Monroe gained her wings on October 16, 2025. Born on Christmas Day in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Brandi was truly a gift to everyone who knew her — full of light, laughter, and love.

She spent much of her life in Sturgis and also in Sioux Falls, where she met some of the most incredible friends who became
family to her. No matter where she went, Brandi had a way of making people feel loved, seen, and cared for. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was the kind that stayed with you.

Brandi was a proud and devoted wife, mama, and nana — her family was her greatest joy. She leaves behind her loving husband and best friend Anthony Igou; her children Chante (Austin) Sense, Uriah NoNeck, Elijah Monroe, and Destinee Igou; and her precious grandchildren Kaison, Watson, Leland, Amarie, and Genevieve, who were truly the light of
her life.

She is survived by her loving mother Kathleen Murray, her “second mom” Kathy Rierson, her mother-in-law Cynthia Walters, her father-in-law Dale Igou and his wife Tami. Her siblings Dede Kirsch, Kerri Symonds-Swindoll, Gregory Streeter, and Jennifer Gibson Dane, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved so deeply.

Brandi was welcomed into Heaven by many loved ones who went before her, including Ashley Weslocky, who was like another daughter to her, her grandparents Dolores and Francis Murray, and her sister Tami Barker.

Brandi had a heart that overflowed with love. She found joy in life’s little moments — sipping coffee and watching Lifetime with her daughter, cheering on her Dallas Cowboys, taking pictures of every memory, singing and dancing around the house, and watching her grandbabies play. She loved the ocean, road trips, and the freedom of simply being surrounded by those she loved most.

Her love, laughter, and beautiful soul will be forever missed but never forgotten. Brandi is now dancing in the sky, watching over her family and friends, her light shining brightly through everyone who was blessed to love her.

“We love you forever, Momma — until we meet again.”
