Bonnie Clark

Bonnie Clark was born February 25, 1943 at Cooper, SD to Emery and Dorothy (Harvey) Sternad. She attended 8 years of country school at Lama and 4 years of high school in Faith, SD. She married in 1953 and has two children by that marriage. In 1980, she married Roscoe Clark and they resided at their Pleasant Valley home until moving to Sturgis in 2014.

Bonnie taught 4-H Judging schools, Sunday and Bible schools while living in the Kirley and Plainview areas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women; holding offices in each. She was also a member and held offices in the Sturgis Area Zonta Club, a member of the Piedmont Senior Citizens and three years with the community Educational Advisory Council.

Bonnie painted, wallpapered and also clerked for Haley’s Tri-State Auction for many years. Rosco and Bonnie also made designer jewelry for Prairie Edge.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rae Eixenberger; son, Danny (Lynelle) Chapman; step-daughter, Denise (Richard) Deaver; Grandchildren, Cody (Staci) Skinner, Samantha Jo (Nate) Oviatt, Danilee (Shawn) Pudwill, Caleb (Sara) Chapman, Julie (Marty) Plaggemeyer and eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one brother, Tom (Carole) Sternad; sisters Betty Stewart and Beverly Christoffersen; and brother-in-law, Delvin Price.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Clark, her parents, an infant daughter, sister Brenda Price, brother Jerry Sternad, grandson Erik Eixenberger, son-in-law Max Eixenberger and brothers-in-law Jerry Steward and Sonny Christoffersen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:30 at the Sturgis United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
