Betty Lea Tesch, 85, passed away May 17, 2025 in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Betty was born in the old Deadwood hospital at 7:20 am on November 4, 1939. She was the third child born to Glenn A. Dodson Sr. and Erma B. (Shuck) Dodson. Betty attended school in Sturgis, graduating with the class of 1958. She went on to attend Black Hills State for a short time after the family moved to Spearfish.
Betty married William A. Tesch at the Methodist Church in Spearfish on December 11, 1960. They lived in Lead until life turned them into rolling stones and they moved to Salem, Oregon for a short time and then back to Belle Fourche, then to Casper, Wyoming, then back to Rapid City where she resided until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Erma Dodson; daughter, Debra Jean Tesch; brother, Arthur “Art” (Jane) Dodson; and sisters, Candace Dodson and Glenda Moorhead.
Betty is survived by her son, Terry Tesch and his children, Miranda, Jakob, and Kaylea; son, Allan (Karen) Tesch; brother, Virgil (Vina) Dodson; sister, Verla Winslow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery.
