Albert spent his earlier years in Alliance, Nebraska, where he completed his high school education—an experience that provided him with the fundamental skills and strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. Not long after his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1952, after servicing a tour in Korea, Albert began a distinguished career with the BNSF Railway, where he dedicated over four decades of service. Throughout his life, Albert showed versatility in his professional endeavors. He worked for Ford Motor Company, served as a ranch hand, drove trucks, and labored in the oil fields. His return to the railroad as a Switchman was a testament to his commitment to the industry he loved.
Albert deeply valued his Christian faith, which guided him through his life and instilled in him the virtues of compassion and generosity. He nurtured a love for rodeos and possessed a spirit that found joy in the company of horses and all animals in general. Fishing and hunting were among his favorite pastimes, allowing him hours of tranquility and reflection in nature’s embrace. Yet, above all, Albert’s heart lay in the precious moments he spent with his family. He unfailingly put their happiness above his own and ensured that each of them felt his unwavering support and love.
