STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis’ new ambulance director has hit the ground running.
Aiden Schillig has already made some changes within the department that he says has led to some much needed improvements.
Schillig says the service has started using third-party billing company Physicians Claims Company (PCC), a service that is widely recognized as the industry standard for Emergency Medical Services billing in South Dakota.
Schillig says this third party billing service means they will be able to submit bills to insurance providers within one or two days of transport. He says that should significantly increase the likelihood of reimbursement.
The Sturgis City Council approved the contract with PCC in April.
Schillig is also prepping or the 85th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Schillig says his mission in Sturgis is clear: support the team, improve infrastructure, and elevate the level of care for the entire region.
