STURGIS, S.D. — Country music favorite Neal McCoy is set to bring his signature energy and timeless hits to The Loud American Roadhouse in Sturgis this Saturday, April 26. Joining him as a special guest is rising country artist Frank Ray.

McCoy, known for chart-toppers like “No Doubt About It” and “Wink,” joined The Roadhouse Show on Wednesday morning to preview the upcoming concert and reflect on a career that spans more than three decades.

“If anybody’s ever seen our show, hopefully they’ll come back. And if you haven’t, come give us a chance,” McCoy said. “We think we’re pretty good at it.”

Brandon Jones, co-host of The Roadhouse Show and a musician himself, recalled sharing a stage with McCoy in North Dakota last year during a rainstorm. Despite the weather, McCoy performed for a lively crowd dancing in the mud.

“You brought such a showdown,” Jones told McCoy. “People did not care. You had them out there in the rain, and it was amazing.”

McCoy attributes his enduring stage presence to discipline and dedication. “I try to work out and keep my body in shape, my breath in shape,” he said. “It’s a goal of mine to be as good as I can be every night I’m out there.”

When asked what still gives him butterflies, McCoy said it’s the connection with the audience that fuels him. “It’s going to sound hokey or corny,” he said with a laugh, “but being able to bring joy to people and get it back from them—there’s nothing else I’d rather do.”

While his sentimental favorite remains “No Doubt About It,” McCoy says his preferred song to perform often depends on the crowd. “Because our energy level is still really effective, songs like ‘Wink’ and ‘Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On’ always get a great reaction,” he said.

And just in case you were wondering—as many of the cast members at Homeslice Media were—McCoy cleared up the mystery behind his famously long-legged look. “The inseam on the Wranglers I wear is forty-four inches,” he revealed, adding with a chuckle, “I promise you, my legs aren’t that long. It’s the starch. It’s stacked. Cowboys do that.”

As for his legacy, McCoy remains humble and hopeful that even newer fans will find something to love in his music.

“Some of the younger people don’t know who we are anymore,” he said. “But maybe they’ll hear us and say, ‘You know what, 90s country? I think I’d like that.’ If we ever get them to come see us, I think we’ve got ’em.”Neal McCoy and Frank Ray will take the stage at The Loud American Roadhouse in Sturgis this Saturday. Showtime is set for the evening, and tickets are available at the venue and online at loudamericansturgis.com.
