Multiple motorcycles involved in Friday night Northern Hills crash

LEAD, S.D. – First responders were dispatched Friday night to a multiple motorcycle crash that occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m.

The Lead Volunteer Fire Department reported they were dispatched to Nevada Gulch Road and Highway 14A approximately 1.2 miles South of Lead for the report of Motor Vehicle Crash (MVC) involving multiple motorcycles and patients.

Upon arrival, Firefighters discovered two motorcycles that had collided with multiple patients with one recieving significant injuries.

Firefighters assisted with Patient Care, Patient Transport, and Traffic Control.

Lead Units: Engine 3, Rescue 4, and Squad 7 responded to the incident.

Assisting Agencies were the Monument Health Northern Hills Ambulance, Lead Police Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Lawrence County Sherriff’s Office.

The crash is under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
