TURGIS, SD.. — The Sturgis Buffalo Chip has announced the return of its celebrated Motorcycles As Art exhibition for the 2025 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, unveiling a preliminary lineup of renowned builders, artists and special features. The event will take place at the Buffalo Chip Event Center from Saturday, August 2 through Friday, August 8, from 3 p.m. to midnight daily.
Now in its 17th year, the exhibition was originally created by iconic motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter and is currently curated by Kevin Dunworth and Savannah Rose. The 2025 edition continues the tradition of showcasing motorcycle culture through the lens of art and craftsmanship, offering an experience unique to Sturgis and unmatched anywhere in the world.
The weeklong gallery is free to the public and will include:
- Debuts of custom motorcycles by internationally acclaimed builders
- Original wall art by both legendary and emerging motorcycle artists
- Live welding and painting demonstrations
- A creative helmet installation featuring Dirty Dozen Helmets from Torc Helmets
- A special photography collection curated by Billy Lane of Choppers Inc

The exhibition is one of many experiences at the Buffalo Chip during the 85th anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which runs from August 1 to 10.
