RAPID CITY, SD — Monument Health hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon to celebrate the upcoming opening of their Rapid Valley Clinic on September 2nd.
The Clinic, which acts as the second facility opened this month offers services in both urgent care as well as family medicine, allowing for walk-in patients to be served by on-site doctors and nurses and for labs and x-ray examinations to be performed on-site as well.
The introduction of both facilities fills a need for medical care in the area, and hopes to expand the service Monument provides to more people in more places. According to Dr. Thane Gale, Medical Director for Monument Health Urgent Care, the primary care facilities are for “Everyone from birth to end of life,” and urgent care also offers a wide range of resources to patients. “We can do fracture care. We can do broken noses, nosebleeds. But you know, the things that are the most life threatening, are the ones that really need to go to the emergency room”.
Monument Health along with the opening of these new facilities has introduced an “On My Way” early check-in button. According to Jessica Daigle, director of Ambulatory Operations at Monument Health Urgent Care this allows those with a MyChart account who are traveling to an Urgent Care Facility to go to monument.health, navigate to the urgent care section, and reserve an early spot to avoid some of the long waits that can come with walk-in medical treatment.
