LEAD, S.D. — A man was shot and killed Thursday evening during a fight.
According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, on June 12, 2025, at 5:22 p.m., its dispatch center received a call reporting an altercation at a residence along Highway 385.
During the fight, a weapon was drawn and discharged. The bullet struck the 59-year-old man. He was transported to the Monument Health Lead-Deadwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
