RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for vehicular homicide in connection with a Christmas Day crash in 2021.
A jury found 29-year-old Faron Mesteth guilty on two counts of vehicular homicide in January.
Mesteth was under the influence of methamphetamine when he crashed a car on Highway 44 near Centre Street.
The crash resulted in the deaths of two people, Richard Fenhaus and Jame Scott Sayler.
Mesteth was given 20 years in prison for each county to be served consecutively.
