Man accused of fatal stabbing downtown RC makes court appearance

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man accused of fatally stabbing a man Tuesday, April 1, made his initial court appearance Friday.

Diontae Eagleman, 22, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death Francis Tobacco.

Tobacco was found suffering from a stab wound in the 400 block Sixth Street, just across from Main Street Square. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he died.

If convicted, Eagleman could face either the death penalty or life in prison.

He is currently being held in the Pennington County Jail.
