RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Jon will perform at the Central States Fair in Rapid City on Aug. 21, bringing his high-energy brand of hip-hop to the Black Hills as part of the 2025 Black Hills Energy Concert Series.
Known for hits such as “Get Low,” “Yeah!,” “Snap Yo Fingers,” and “Turn Down for What,” the Atlanta-born rapper, producer and cultural icon rose to prominence in the early 2000s as a pioneer of the crunk movement. Over the past two decades, Lil Jon has become a fixture in both music and pop culture, collaborating with artists including Usher, DJ Snake, Pitbull, Saweetie and the Ying Yang Twins.
“This is a bold move for us and we’re thrilled about it,” said Ron Jeffries, general manager of the Central States Fair. “Lil Jon brings a completely different flavor to our lineup — and we think fairgoers are going to love it. It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be wild, and it’s going to be one of the most memorable nights we’ve ever had at the Fair.”
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. A tailgate party for VIP and Premier passholders will begin at 4 p.m. Tickets go on sale June 2 at centralstatesfair.com, with upgraded passes offering early entry, prime seating and exclusive amenities.
The performance marks the second of three headlining concerts announced for this year’s fair. The Central States Fair runs Aug. 15–23 and features nine nights of live entertainment, motorsports and rodeo events.
