Close to 20 years ago I started my first ‘real’ job in the ad production department of the Lawrence County Journal in Spearfish. To date myself, these printed ads were always in black and white and I had to carry a pager in case there were any issues with files with the printer. This usually resulted in midnight runs to the office followed up by picking up friends from the Back Porch when it was closing time. I had an immense sense of pride when my first ad was published. I did something that was pushed out to the world and more importantly our community.
Today, I feel just as excited working for the Rapid City Post. This is truly a passion project for me. It isn’t just work. It is personal.
My goal is to make The Rapid City Post the community news hub. We will share your story. We will do our best to cover what needs to be covered. Since its launch 30 days ago we’ve had a tremendous amount of support from local service agencies, businesses, and individuals who have shared press releases, tips, local stories, and words of encouragement. Thank you for letting us share your story with the rest of the community.
Our efforts alone will not keep this project alive. If you are a business, please consider advertising with us. If you’re on social media, please follow us and let us know you like what we’re posting. If you listen to podcasts, please subscribe to The Daily Slice, which I believe is one of the best products for local, state, and national news; you can listen to it in under 10 minutes on your way to work every morning before 8am. We’re very close to launching a daily newsletter that you can subscribe to at rapidcitypost.com/newsletter/
Above all else, please tell your neighbors about us. The news isn’t news until you share it with someone.
