STURGIS, S.D. – Icy roads again greeted travelers on the morning commute in the Northern Hills.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol responded to a number of accidents, including a semi-truck that had jack-knifed in the median of I-90 just outside Piedmont.
No travel advisories were up for the Northern Hills and I-90 from the Wyoming line to Piedmont earlier Thursday, but they had since been lifted.
The wind cut visibility to near zero in some areas overnight and a handful of schools started classes two hours late Thursday morning.
SD511 reports some roads are still slippery with snow cover heading into Thursday afternoon.
