Hotel Board Applicants Sought to Fund Black Hills Sports Venue

RAPID CITY, South Dakota – The City of Rapid City is seeking applications for five members to be appointed to the newly established Hotel Business Improvement District #2 Board. The new board will play a vital role in funding marketing and promotion for sports events, as well as the construction, operation, and maintenance of the city’s new sports fieldhouse.

Of the five positions, two members will be selected to serve two-year terms and three will serve three-year terms. Applicants must be associated with a hotel located within the Rapid City limits that has 55 or more rooms.

Interested citizens in the Black Hills area are asked to submit a Citizen Interest Application online. The deadline for all applications is 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 19.

The Mayor will select the board members, with the appointments then subject to confirmation by the Rapid City City Council. The city aims for committee placement to occur in December.
