STURGIS, S.D. – It’s become a Homecoming week tradition in Sturgis.

Middle School students in Sturgis meet at the Sturgis Public Works shop to paint the plows.

This year, 65 Sturgis Williams Middle School Student Council members participated, and brought out their creative side on the city’s snowplows and a variety of school spirit initiatives.

Advisor Kristi Cammack says Public Works Director Rick Bush reached out to her more than 10 years ago about the idea, and it has continued to be a fun and productive project.

Cammack was joined by fellow advisor Mickayla Wilson as the students spent the day sharing their creativity.

The plows with their newly painted graphics will be in Friday’s Sturgis Homecoming Parade.
