WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats rebounded from their stunning loss to Rapid City Post 320 yesterday by winning their first game in the loser’s bracket.
Post 22 jumped out front early, and took an 11-4 lead into the top of the 7th inning, only to see Brandon Valley Post 131 make a comeback in Watertown at the State A Legion Tournament.
Dawson Inhofer came in to pitch at the top of the seventh after Brandon Valley loaded the bases in an 11-4 game. Inhofer walked in a pair of runners before getting a strikeout. But, Brandon Valley would add another run on a single and another two runs walks. Inhofer was replaced by J Morgan, who managed to get the final out for the Hardhats on a ground out to third base. Post 22 would get the win, 11-9.
Post 22 needed the victory following their loss to the Stars yesterday 4-1.
Brandon Valley, with their loss to Renner yesterday, is eliminated from the tournament.
Post 22 will next play the loser of tonight’s Harrisburg vs Watertown game.
