RAPID CITY, S.D. – A man was arrested after police responded to reports of gunshots in a Rapid City neighborhood on Tuesday night.
Rapid City police were dispatched to the 4300 block of Berniece Street around 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 23 after multiple calls about gunshots heard in the area.
Police identified 20-year-old Timothy Boresahole of Oglala as the suspect. According to officials, Boresahole reportedly exited an apartment complex and fired a shotgun several times into the air before going back inside.
Upon contact, officers said Boresahole showed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm and underage consumption of alcoholic beverages. He was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
According to Pennington County Jail records, Boresahole was booked on Sept. 24 at 12:39am. His charges are listed as Underage Purchase/Possession/Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages and Weapons-Reckless Discharge of Firearm or Bow and Arrow. He has a court date scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 25.
During the investigation, police recovered the shotgun and a pistol that was later determined to have been stolen in a vehicle burglary in June. The incident remains under investigation.
