RAPID CITY, S.D. – The World Ballet Company will bring its production of “The Great Gatsby Ballet” to Rapid City for a performance on Nov. 6, 2025, at the Fine Arts Theatre. The performance is part of a nationwide tour celebrating the 100th anniversary of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel.
The show, which premiered in the spring of 2025, features an original jazz score and choreography that includes acrobatics. The production is a Broadway-style adaptation of the classic novel, complete with hand-sewn costumes and sets that use multimedia and projection effects. The performance will also include a live singer and Charleston dance sequences.
The World Ballet Company’s mission is “Ballet Everywhere, Ballet For All.” According to audience surveys, more than 60% of the company’s audiences are experiencing ballet for the first time. The company, based in Los Angeles, has toured to over 300 cities and reached an audience of more than 500,000.
The show has received positive reviews, with The Epoch Times noting “Daring lifts and engaging storytelling” and LA Dance Chronicle calling it “a beautiful ballet production.”
