KEYSTONE, SD – Mount Rushmore National Memorial is set to host a vibrant two-day celebration on July 3rd and 4th, offering a blend of historical reenactments, cultural performances, and patriotic ceremonies. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the spirit of independence against the backdrop of the iconic presidential sculptures.
The festivities will commence on Thursday, July 3rd, at 9:30 AM, with a unique news conference featuring presidential re-enactors in character at the Carvers’ Café. The evening program, beginning at 7:30 PM, promises a captivating hoop dance performance by Jasmine Bell, followed by musical renditions from The Air Force Academy Band. The Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard will also participate in a solemn Flag Folding Ceremony and Retreat.

Friay, July 4th, will kick off at 9:00 AM with Lakota Artist and Hoop Dancers presenting an hour of mesmerizing dancing and storytelling. Throughout the day, visitors can expect to encounter the popular presidential re-enactors, engage with Native performers and culture bearers, enjoy another musical performance by The Air Force Academy Band, and conclude their day with the traditional Evening Lighting Program.
Beyond the memorial, the town of Keystone is embracing the holiday spirit with a variety of patriotic activities.
