Rapid City, SD – The Rapid City Fire Department responded to a structure fire on East College Avenue late this afternoon, with a column of smoke visible across the city. No injuries were reported in the blaze.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., the department received a call regarding a fire in the 100 block of East College Avenue. First responders reported seeing smoke and flames as they approached the scene. Crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Rapid City Fire Department units that responded to the scene included Battalion 1, Truck 1, Squad 1, Medic 1, Engine 4, Truck 3, and Engine 7. The department serves the city of Rapid City and surrounding areas of the Black Hills of South Dakota.
