Former Douglas Schools paraprofessional facing charges

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A 28-year-old woman has been charged with several felonies, stemming from her time working as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the Douglas School District in Box Elder.

The charges against Duncan Sioux Witt include Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Enticement of a Minor Using the Internet, Receipt of Child Pornography, and Possession of Child Pornography.

The victim of the case was a minor student who was receiving special education services at the time of the incident.

In February of 2024, Witt allegedly began sending the boy inappropriate and sexual messages, photos and videos using Snapchat. She also allegedly coerced the boy into sending her photos and videos of himself in return, saving the messages to her account.

Witt is facing a mandatory sentence of 15 years to life in prison and fines of up to $250,000 if convicted.

Box Elder Police Department and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation are continuing to investigate the case.
