RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol and local law enforcement have been busy so far responding to numerous accidents around the Black Hills as the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally enters its second day.
Two accidents were reported on the Needles Highway in the southern hills, slowing traffic in the area.
A serious crash involving four motorcycles resulted in one death and four others injured on Highway 16A/244 near Mt Rushmore. The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol were among the agencies responding to that crash that also slowed traffic in the area.
