SUMMERSET, S.D. – Black Hawk fire crews responded to a structure fire just before 4:30 Wednesday afternoon on Polk Street in Summerset.
First arriving fire crews found a single family home showing signs of smoke and fire.
A rapid attack by the Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department were able to contain it to the structure of origin and keep it from causing any other damage to the structure or infrastructure to other improvements in the area.
Pennington County Fire Administrator Jerome Harvey says the home was not occupied and there were no injuries to firefighters, civilians, or animals reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
