RAPID CITY, S.D. – The City of Rapid City’s Utility Maintenance Division will begin water line repairs on Fifth Street on Monday, potentially causing temporary water outages for nearby residents. The work, located between Saint Patrick Street and Saint Francis Street, is expected to be finished by mid-week.
Northbound traffic on Fifth Street will be reduced to a single lane for about 400 feet in the work zone. Drivers in Rapid City and the Black Hills are advised to seek alternate routes and adhere to posted signs.
In a related development, traffic restrictions at the intersection of Fifth Street and Cathedral Drive will be lifted Monday following the completion of road repairs.
For more information, residents can contact the City’s Utility Maintenance Division at 605-394-4163. The repairs are a routine part of maintaining infrastructure in South Dakota.
