Rapid City, SD — Downtown Rapid City is gearing up for an energetic kickoff to the holiday weekend as organizers prepare to launch the first-ever Gobble Crawl on Wednesday, November 26th. The new Thanksgiving Eve event brings together a full lineup of downtown bars for a night of connection, celebration, and big pre-holiday energy.
The evening begins at 6:00 PM at Murphy’s Pub, where participants will check in before setting off on a curated route through some of downtown’s most beloved establishments. From Murphy’s, crawlers will make their way through Thirsty’s, Press Start, The Oasis, Social House, The Tinder Box, The Brass Rail, and ABY’s, experiencing a full sweep of Rapid City’s nightlife before the grand finale.
Head Organizer Austin Slack says the goal is simple: bring people together on one of the biggest social nights of the year.
“The Gobble Crawl is Rapid City’s Thanksgiving Eve bar adventure — a lively, pre-holiday event designed to bring friends and the community together,” Slack explains. “Guests move from stop to stop enjoying great drinks, good company, and festive energy, all culminating in a major after-party at The 445 Lounge & Grill.”
The route ends at The 445 Lounge & Grill, where the excitement ramps up even further. At 9:00 PM, regional favorite Stereo Trip takes the stage for a high-energy performance that runs until midnight.
Slack says the band was an intentional choice for the event’s debut.
“Stereo Trip brings an electrifying mix of early 2000s nostalgia and modern hits — high energy, crowd moving, and packed with sing-along moments,” he says. “Their performance will close out the night with the perfect mix of fun, familiarity, and feel-good chaos.”
With eight participating venues and a built-in after-party, the first-ever Gobble Crawl is expected to draw a strong Thanksgiving Eve crowd and deliver a major boost of foot traffic throughout downtown. For local businesses, it’s an opportunity to showcase their unique atmosphere as the holiday season officially gets underway.
Slack says the ultimate goal is to craft a night guests won’t forget.
“We hope guests walk away remembering a night filled with connection, laughter, and nostalgic excitement,” he says. “The goal is to create one unforgettable evening for everyone involved.”
As Thanksgiving approaches, the Gobble Crawl promises to offer the perfect launch into the long holiday weekend — a festive new way for locals and visitors alike to gather, celebrate, and enjoy the heart of downtown Rapid City.
