Summerset, SD – The South Dakota Department of Transportation has announced a public meeting to share the preliminary results of the Interstate 90 Exit 48 (Stagestop Road) interchange modification study.

Area residents and business owners are invited to attend an open house on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The meeting will be held at Stagebarn Middle School, located at 12500 Sturgis Rd. in Summerset. A brief presentation is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. The remainder of the session will be an informal open house, providing attendees an opportunity for one-on-one discussions with design staff.

The SDDOT representatives will be available to answer questions, provide project details, and collect community input on the study.

The primary goal of the meeting is to present the results derived from initial public feedback and technical screening, which were used to pinpoint a preferred interchange alternative. This public gathering will also serve as a final opportunity to gather comments before the study is officially concluded. Commuters, residents, and business owners in the area are strongly encouraged to participate.

Those unable to attend the in-person meeting can find more information and submit written comments online by visiting https://fhu.mysocialpinpoint.com/i-90-exit-48-interchange-study. Written comments will be accepted through the website and at the public meeting until Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025.
