City officials indicate water service has been restored in the affected area. The street will remain under traffic control with one lane of traffic at the corner of the intersection, to allow the back-filled hole to settle over the weekend. Motorists are asked to use caution in the affected area.
RAPID CITY, SD—Crews are responding to an active water line break this afternoon at the intersection of Wedgewood Drive and Wentworth Drive. The initial report is water service is impacted to at least 40 homes.
Repair crews are on site, assessing the extent of the break and will be working to isolate the break. There is significant road damage at the site and road closures in the area are likely, due to the extent of the repair needs, road damage and for safety reasons. Drivers are advised to use caution in the affected area and consider alternate routes. There is no time frame for when repairs will be completed or water service restored.
