RAPID CITY, SD – In the frigid cold of early morning, the police arrived on the scene of the 445 Lounge and Grill in response to reports of a vehicle involved in a hit and run incident and collision into the window nearest to the bar area of the establishment.
The event itself had occurred some time around 8:40 this morning, and began with a vehicle collision which then veered into two parking meters before running into the sidewalk and striking the building. “After striking the building, the suspect vehicle fled the scene. It was located a short time later by a South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper who initiated a traffic stop.” said RCPD Community Relations Specialist Brendyn Medina, who went on to report that the suspect was stopped on Mt. Rushmore Rd. and Flormann St. and arrested, with charges pending.
As of the time of writing no injuries have been reported by the RCPD as a result of the incident, and repairs to the damage are already in progress.
