WASTA, S.D. – Beginning on Monday March 17, 2025, the eastbound Wasta Rest Area located on Interstate 90 will be temporarily closed for a planned sanitary sewer upgrade project. All work is anticipated to be completed in one month.
The rest area will reopen to the public when the project is complete. During the planned closure, travelers are encouraged to find alternate accommodations.
The prime contractor for this $499,000 project is Mainline Contracting of Rapid City, S.D.
The eastbound Wasta Rest Area sanitary sewer upgrade project completion date is Thursday, April 17, 2025.
