RAPID CITY, SD—The City Parks and Recreation Department will host its third annual Easter Egg Hunt at a new location.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at 9 a.m. at the Omaha Street Soccer Field, 1601 W. Omaha Street.  The previous two egg hunts were held between the Roosevelt Park Swim Center and Ice Arena.

The City Easter Egg Hunt is open to children ages 13 and under and participants are asked to bring their own basket for collecting eggs filled with candy surprises.  Last year, more than 1,000 candy-filled eggs were swept up in less than a few minutes.

“Last year’s City Easter egg hunt had a tremendous response from the public,” said Lindsey Myers, City Parks and Recreation Specialist for Special Events. “We’ve changed the location for a wider area to host the event and we expect a lot of kids picking up eggs with candy surprises this year.  It should be a lot of fun.”
