RAPID CITY, SD – Central High School has announced the launch of a new fund aimed at supporting students and school programs. The “Always a Cobbler Fund” was unveiled Tuesday, August 12, during an all-staff meeting.

The fund is a permanent endowment, made possible by a $10,000 donation from Central High School staff, which was raised on the spot at the meeting. The endowment makes the fund eligible for matching donations, ensuring continued support for the Cobbler community in Rapid City.

The goal of the fund is to raise $1 million to provide ongoing support for students and school traditions. Five percent of the fund’s annual earnings will be used to remove barriers to student participation in activities and programs. The Rapid City Public School Foundation is assisting with the initiative.

Donations can be made by sending a check to BHACF with “Always a Cobbler Fund” in the memo line or online at https://bit.ly/alwaysacobbler. The Black Hills community is encouraged to support the initiative to preserve the legacy of Central High School. The fund aims to honor 100 years of Cobbler tradition in South Dakota.
