RAPID CITY, SD (UPDATED) – At 9:40am this morning police were dispatched following reports of a break-in at 5002 S Canyon Rd. The homeowner left the home immediately and after police arrived the perpetrator barricaded themselves within. Meeting with the homeowner, they described the suspect as a male dressed in black.
As of 2pm, the suspect appears to have left the premises unnoticed, and a search has resulted in no suspects found. Police are continuing investigation, and are asking for the help of the public.
Eye witness reported that dogs, drones, and a robot were used in the search of the suspect.
