RAPID CITY, S.D. – May 29, 2025 – The Black Hills Quilters Guild will host its annual Black Hills Quilt Show at The Monument in Rapid City, South Dakota, from Thursday, June 5, to Saturday, June 7, 2025. This highly anticipated event, a cornerstone of the Black Hills arts scene, is expected to draw quilt enthusiasts and visitors from across the region and beyond.
The three-day show will feature over 450 quilts, showcasing a diverse range of styles, techniques, and artistry. Attendees will have the opportunity to admire intricate designs, discover unique textile creations, and explore various sewn items. The show also includes an “Open Sew” area, inviting individuals to engage with quilting firsthand and learn basic techniques.
In addition to the extensive display of quilts, the event will host numerous vendors offering a wide selection of quilting supplies, fabrics, and long-arm machines. Visitors seeking unique gifts will find a variety of handcrafted items for sale.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the Black Hills Quilt Show emphasizes community engagement. A quilt raffle and several raffle baskets will be available, with a special silent auction raising funds for the Monument Health Hospice House. Since 2005, the Black Hills Quilters Guild has contributed over $46,000 to the Hospice House through its silent auctions.
The Black Hills Quilters Guild actively supports local community organizations and the military through various initiatives, including “Project Warmth,” which provides quilted items to local charities, and “Boots for Troops,” creating Christmas stockings for deployed service members. Special exhibits will highlight the guild’s creative talents and community involvement, including displays of wool appliqué and quilts made for the USS South Dakota Submarine.
Admission to the Black Hills Quilt Show is $8 per day or $15 for a three-day pass. Children receive free admission. Passes can be purchased at the entrance to Rushmore Hall at The Monument, located at 444 Mt. Rushmore Road N., Rapid City, South Dakota.
The show hours are Thursday, June 5, with a preview night starting at 5:00 p.m.; Friday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
