Rapid City, SD – This morning, Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity welcomed community members and supporters to their first Builders Breakfast since 2018, marking the return of a meaningful fundraiser aimed at building hope, homes, and a stronger future in the Black Hills.

The Builders Breakfast serves as both a fundraiser and awareness event, shining a light on the organization’s mission, methods, and the growing need for affordable housing in the region.

The morning featured powerful speakers, including Rachelle White, President of the Home Builders Association, and Eric Whitcher of the Pennington County Public Defender’s Office. A highlight of the event was a heartfelt panel featuring past and future Habitat homeowners, who shared their personal journeys and the impact Habitat has had—and will have—on their lives.

Community members were encouraged to take action and support the organization’s mission by joining the monthly Builders Club or making a one-time donation at www.blackhillshabitat.org/donate.

With the success of this year’s event, Habitat hopes to continue fostering partnerships and inspiring more people to help build homes, community, and hope across the Black Hills.
