Black Hawk Man Arrested in Rollover Crash, DUI

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Black Hawk man was arrested Tuesday night after a rollover crash and attempted flight from the scene in Rapid City. The incident occurred around 9:10 p.m. on July 15, 2025, near the intersection of E. Saint Patrick Street and E. Saint Joseph Street.

Rapid City police responded to reports of a single-vehicle rollover accident and that the male driver was fleeing the scene. Officers located the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Zach Anderson of Black Hawk, near the intersection of Cambell Street and E. Saint Patrick Street.

Authorities observed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. Following a DUI investigation, Anderson was determined to be too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Anderson was arrested on charges of DUI (2nd Offense), Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Pennington County Jail.

According to Pennington County Jail records, Anderson was booked on July 15, 2025, at 10:17 p.m. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
