The Rapid City Rush win against the Allen Americans in a tight 2-1 overtime decision at Credit Union of Texas event center in Allen Texas.
Rapid City’s first goal came from Swedish rookie Marcus Ekstrom. Ekstrom assisted by Quinn Olson and Billy Constantinou got his first ECHL point at 13:14 of the first period.
Allen’s Colton Hargrove tied it in the third.
Blake Bennett’s goal at 1:23 of the overtime sealed the Rapid City win.
41-40 shots, respectively, on goal earned each goalie a star of the game. Connor Murphy earnied first star for the proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL Calgary Flames. Allen’s Marco Constantini deservedly took the second star. Bennet received the third star.
The Rush resume the series against the Allen Americans on Friday October 31st in Allen Texas. Puck drops at 6:05 p.m. MDT.
The next Rush home game is against the Tahoe Knight Monsters on November 5th.
