The Badlands Sabres faced off against the Gillette Wild in a two-game weekend series.
On Friday, September 19, the Sabres traveled to Gillette, WY, where they battled hard but ultimately fell 5-2. Scoring for the Sabres were Gavin Marx (assisted by Maddox Harn and Patrick Gosselin) and Rhylan Olson (assisted by Kyyan Jahner and Ethan Seanor).
Back on home ice for Saturday, September 20, the Sabres came ready to bounce back. After a scoreless first period, they regrouped during intermission and came out firing in the second. Matthew Cordis (assisted by Maddox Harn and Carter Kilen) opened the scoring, followed shortly after by a goal from Carter Kilen (assisted by Wyatt Pink and Oliver Giles).
The momentum continued into the third period for the Sabres. Cordis struck again for his second of the night (assisted by Kilen), and less than a minute later, Kilen tallied his second goal (assisted by Sawyer Vann and Randall Roblyer). With strong defense and stellar goaltending, the Sabres secured a commanding 4-0 victory, highlighted by goaltender Parker Kelly earning the shutout.
Next weekend, the Sabres hit the road again with games in Sheridan, WY, and Gillette, WY. Their next home stand will be October 3 & 4, 2025, against the Helena Bighorns at Roosevelt Ice Arena, with puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
