Freshman Koa Peat has dominant performance in debut for No. 13 Arizona vs. No. 3 Florida

Arizona freshman Koa Peat had a chip on his shoulder before making his college debut on Monday. Feeling a bit neglected in Switzerland while playing for the USA 19-and-under team, the three-time Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year said he was going to remind people he was one of the best incoming freshmen, despite not playing in the McDonald’s All-American Game or at the Nike Hoop Summit. He did that by scoring 30 points to lead No. 13 Arizona to a 93-87 win over defending national champion and No. 3 Florida in the Hall of Fame Series.

Jaguars’ Cam Little kicks a 68-yard field goal to break Justin Tucker’s NFL record

Cam Little of the Jacksonville Jaguars has broken an NFL record by kicking a 68-yard field goal. Little converted the kick at the end of the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Justin Tucker had the previous record, a 66-yarder in 2021 that gave the Baltimore Ravens a 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions. While Tucker’s kick hit the crossbar, Little’s boot had plenty of room as it sailed through the uprights. Little came into the game having missed three of his last four kicks, including an extra-point attempt. But the Jaguars’ coaches insisted they had faith in the second-year pro, who hit a 70-yarder in the preseason.

Raiders’ No. 1 receiver Meyers stands firm on offseason trade request as team heads into bye week

Las Vegas Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers’ stance hasn’t changed since training camp. He wants to be traded. That said, as long as Meyers is still wearing silver and black, he’ll remain professional and dedicated toward his job as quarterback Geno Smith’s No.1 target. Meyers, who caught 29 passes for 329 yards through the team’s first six games, missed Sunday’s game in Kansas City with knee and toe injuries. Frustrated by the lack of progress on a new contract before the season started, the 28-year-old informed the team in August that he wanted to be traded. He also said the Raiders turned him down at the time.

The Aces overcame a 14-14 start to the season and a pair of rugged playoff series before sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the finals.
