Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola’s first start after returning from the injured list didn’t last long. Third baseman Alec Bohm, meanwhile, made a big contribution in his first game back. Nationals’ bat-retrieving dog Bruce laps up pregame attention, makes MLB debut

The dog days of summer arrived at Nationals Park. Bruce, a 21-month-old golden retriever, fetched a bat during a ceremony before the Washington Nationals’ game against the Miami Marlins as part of a Pups in the Park promotion.
